Yesterday marked an exciting moment for the Atlassian Williams F1 Team as it officially revealed its new livery for the 2026 season. The reveal event brought together Team Principal James Vowles and drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, who presented the fresh look, eager to communicate to everyone that though delayed, the team are looking forward to the launch of the FW48 in Bahrain in a week’s time.
The new FW48 livery – an evolution of last year’s design – blends classic identity with modern styling. Dominated by a vibrant gloss blue – a colour long associated with Williams – the scheme also incorporates bold black elements that sweep from the chassis to the rear of the car. Complementing both is crisp white detailing on the sidepods, front wing, and rear wing, adding contrast and a contemporary edge. A subtle red and white keyline pays homage to legendary Williams cars from the past, such as the FW14B and FW18 in an effort to leverage the team’s storied legacy.
One notable update this year is the expanded presence of key partners on the livery, especially Barclays, which joins as an official banking partner, featuring prominently in its own shade of blue alongside existing supporters like Komatsu as the onboarding of global companies continues apace.
Drivers expressed genuine excitement about the design. Albon called the livery “bold, modern and unmistakably Atlassian Williams,” while Sainz described it as a “statement of our intent for 2026” and spoke about how thrilling it will be to show it off on track.
With the FW48 still to hit the track – delayed prior to its intended Barcelona shakedown – we still await more detail around its complex design that James Vowles referenced as being the cause of the missed test – and the latest renders offer little in that respect. A full picture, it would seem, will only be revealed when the car leaves the garage in Bahrain.
