We’re always looking for Williams fans to contribute content and chat to our Williams fan site and so I’m delighted to announce that BBurge has joined the team.
BBurge hails from Kent, a stone’s throw from Brands Hatch, the noise from where he could hear through his bathroom window when he was ‘bathing’ (he prefers a bath to a shower).
He remembers in the 1980s climbing through a hole in the fence to watch his heroes Nigel Mansell and Keke Rosberg and pocketing the £3 his mother had given him for a ticket and later spending it on 30 Wham bars.
He was one of Jimmy Nail’s roadies in the 1990s and a UK tour brought him to Tyne and Wear, a place he loved so much he hung around.
He likes nothing more than the sound of a Ford DFV engine, and when he’s not watching or writing about Formula 1, you’ll find him performing in a folk trio – ‘Jeff Stelling’s chode’ (available on iTunes now) – around Gateshead and the surrounding area.
His favourite Williams car is the Williams FW17.
His favourite F1 circuit is Paul Ricard, but ironically can’t watch races there as the crazy stripy run off areas trigger his epilepsy.
His dislikes include the Halo device, Halo – the song by Texas and the Playstation game, Assasin’s creed.
He’s one of the few people to consider himself a Pastor Maldonado fan after Pastor’s unlikely victory in the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix on which BBurge had a £2 bet, placed after qualifying, which netted him a handsome £12 profit which he no doubt frittered away.
BBurge has two children who he wanted to call Frank and Patrick, but his wife put her foot down and they opted for non-Formula 1 related names.
Welcome BBurge! Look out for his blogs in the coming days, weeks and months.
