Williams moves up a place in the Formula 1 constructors table

August 23, 2018

Okay, okay. So it’s as a result of Force India’s entry being annulled in the aftermath of their buyout, and the all-new ‘Racing Point Force India’ entry being introduced, starting from zero points, and yes, the new team will more than likely pick up more than the four points Williams currently have in the fight for the constructors title sooner rather than later, but at at time where successes are few and far between they have to be celebrated when they come along!

So as it stands, Williams find themselves in 9th place – the heady heights of which they (I hate it when fans use ‘we’ to describe their team of choice, however much someone might feel ownership of a team, it’s still ‘they’) have not experienced since the last knockings of 2017.

In all seriousness though, it’s great that a rescue package was found for the Force India F1 team. They’re a great little outfit (and I don’t meant that patronisingly) who regularly punch well above their weight. To lose them would be tragic for Formula 1, and equally so for their 400-strong UK based workforce.

Welcome to the grid Racing Point Force India!
